Dickins Corner, Balwyn North
Street Scape Upgrade
2025
Works at Dickins Corner Shopping Strip in Balwyn North transformed a high-traffic retail precinct at the intersection of Doncaster and Burke Roads into a safer, more inviting public space. The project included new asphalt footpaths, installation of public furniture such as seating, bins and bicycle hoops, landscaped garden beds with stainless-steel climbing frames for jasmine planting, and the introduction of 12 new trees to increase shade across the shopping strip and car parks. Kerb and level adjustments along Maud Street further improved safety by creating greater separation between vehicle and pedestrian zones.
Due to the scale and traffic volumes, all works were delivered overnight with full traffic management in place across a five-way intersection and surrounding retail environment, including Coles, ensuring safe operations while minimising disruption to the community.
